Event Production

Long-Term Strategy: Founded and produced the longest-running recurring nightlife event in Humboldt County, sustaining a successful monthly operation for 12 consecutive years.

Risk Management & Safety: Developed and enforced strict safety protocols and "safe space" guidelines, managing security teams to ensure a secure environment for diverse attendee demographics.

Program Curation: Directed monthly thematic concepts, coordinating DJs, local performance artists, and educational demonstrators.

Community Values: Cultivated an inclusive brand centered on body positivity and consent education, creating a dedicated venue for human expression.

Key Deliverables

Event Consistency: Successfully executed 140+ consecutive monthly events, managing venue relations, talent booking, and promotion.

Safety Operations: Designed and implemented safety protocols to create a secure environment for expression, including specialized security staffing.

Content & Talent: Curated rotating monthly themes involving costume guidelines, educational demos, and live performance art.

Brand Mission: Championed a mission of body positivity and acceptance, fostering a loyal and diverse patron base.

Logistics & Risk Managment

Operating a monthly adult-themed event required rigorous attention to safety protocols and venue relations to ensure longevity.

Venue Operations: Managed the long-term venue relationship, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with all local laws and liquor licensing regulations.

Safety Protocols: Developed and enforced strict "Safe Space" policies and consent guidelines. This included hiring and briefing specialized security teams to maintain a secure, judgment-free environment for all attendees.

Consistency: Successfully executed the event on a strict monthly schedule for over a decade, creating a reliable "third place" for the community that attendees could count on.

Talent Recruitment & Curation

To keep a monthly event engaging for 12 years, I had to constantly innovate the entertainment lineup while supporting local artists.

Performance Art: Scouted and booked a rotating lineup of local and touring performance artists, including dancers and theatrical performers, ensuring they aligned with the month’s specific theme.

DJ & Music Management: Curated the musical atmosphere by hiring DJs who understood the flow of the night—building energy from social mingling to active dancing.

Educational Demonstrations: Recruited experts to provide educational demonstrations, adding a layer of learning and community value to the entertainment.

Marketing & Brand Strategy

Building a loyal brand around inclusivity and body positivity.

I built a brand identity that went beyond just a "party"—it was a movement for body positivity and human sexuality.

Thematic Campaigns: Developed unique monthly themes (e.g., specific eras, colors, or styles) to encourage audience participation and creativity. I created all copy and promotional materials to communicate these themes clearly.

Community Messaging: Crafted a marketing voice centered on "Humans of All Creation," promoting body positivity and inclusivity. This messaging fostered a deeply loyal customer base that felt seen and respected.

Audience Engagement: Managed all social media channels and community outreach, fielding questions and moderating online spaces to ensure the safe space culture extended digitally.

Volunteer and Staff Management

Managing a team dedicated to education and safety.

Unlike standard events, staff for this event needed high emotional intelligence and specific training regarding consent and safety.

Safety Monitors: Recruited and trained a team of volunteer "Safety Monitors" (or "Dungeon Monitors") who circulated through the event to support security, answer questions, and ensure all interactions remained consensual and safe.

Educational Staff: Coordinated volunteers who assisted with educational demos, ensuring they had the resources and space needed to teach safely.

Gate & Greeters: Trained door staff to act as the first line of vibe-checking, ensuring every attendee understood the rules of the space before entering.

For 12 years, I produced Fetish Night Humboldt, establishing it as the county’s longest-running recurring event series. My goal was to curate a safe, creative sanctuary for "humans of all creation" to celebrate body positivity and human sexuality without judgment.

Beyond the music and dancing, the production prioritized education and safety. Each month featured a unique theme requiring distinct decor and atmosphere, alongside bookings for DJs and local performance artists. A key component of the production was the integration of educational demonstrations and a highly trained security staff, ensuring the event remained a safe space for exploration and community connection.
